My spouse and I were quite possibly the most clueless couple in Ottawa! We had spent several months scouring the MLS website and attending open houses without being represented by an agent. This was because we simply could not find anyone that suited our needs, or that seemed confident enough to satisfy our insecurity of the competitive housing market. From the moment we first met Anneke at an open house, my spouse and I were immediately impressed by her positive attitude, professionalism, and helpful knowledge. She spent a great deal of time speaking with us and assessing our needs, even though it was obvious from the first few minutes that were not interested in the particular home she was promoting. We were pleased that despite our lower-than-average-budget, she still took the time to get to know us, since other agents we met previously had given us the feeling that we were not worth their effort.

Throughout the entire process of house-hunting, open-house visiting, bidding, negotiating, and closing, Anneke was always available to give great advice and tips. We got the first house we bid on and I credit her for this. She suggested my spouse and I accompany her to the location where offers were being accepted. She created a fantastic, organized booklet with our offer enclosed and submitted it to the seller. After a few minutes of considering all offers (there were about 4), the seller's agent approached us and said "Since you're the only ones [physically] here the seller has given you an opportunity to buy right now." Had we not been there, I suspect our offer would have been rejected. But because my spouse and I were present to sign off on the counter-offer and close up the deal that evening, we got the house we wanted simply by following Anneke's advice.

Anneke continued to provide extraordinary help throughout the rest of the process including the home inspection, touching base with our mortgage specialist, keeping in contact with our lawyer, and providing us with daily updates on the progress of our purchase. She provided us with guidance, leadership and confidence - and for that, we are grateful to have had selected her as our agent. We would definitely recommend Anneke to anyone and we look forward to using her services in the future.
